Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers Needed

Sunday Produce Bagging help needed: We have started picking up produce from the farmers’ markets on Saturdays and Sundays and need help in the warehouse bagging produce. You can sign up to help using our online calendar.

Changes in Drop-in Bagging Nights: On most Wednesday nights at 6:30pm, volunteers can “drop-in” to bag canned goods or chicken. Due to changes in how AFAC distributes canned goods, all Drop-in Nights will now be chicken bagging. However, we never have bagging on the 5th Wednesday of the month so there is NO BAGGING on Wednesday, May 30th. On June 6th, we’ll bag chicken and not canned goods. You can read more about our chicken bagging nights on our webpage.

Volunteer to Stamp Out Hunger!

Stamp Out Hunger
Letter Carriers Annual Food Drive

Saturday, May 12th, Arlington Letter Carriers will pick-up donations for AFAC directly from your mailbox!

Please leave a bag of non-perishable food donations next to your mailbox by 9am Saturday, May 12th so your letter carrier can collect it. Last year, 13,500 lbs. of food was donated. This is our 2nd largest food drive of the year.
Help AFAC publicize the Letter Carriers Food Drive. We need volunteers between May 5th and 11th to:
  • Spend an hour or so leafleting neighbors. This is a good family volunteer activity and a great way for teens to earn service hours on their own schedule.
  • Put a sign in your yard. If you live on a busy street, we’ll bring you a sign.
  • Put up flyers in your apartment building, office building or local store.

To help, please contact danielle.rampton@afac.org.
